Dear Sirs and Brothers:

In regards to the above reference, please note the associated pages. Those pages were retyped due to poor fax copies. U.S. Mail will follow with the fax copy. The retype format is as close as we could reconstruct to the original.

I urge your prompt action to counter BNSF’s attempt to further insert themselves into the privacy of my members. This action by BNSF is nothing more than a veiled attempt to secure medical records and information to which they have no right without release by the employees.

I have been advised by Labor Representatives attending a SACP meeting concerning this issue that it is the Carrier’s intention to take an injured employee to a medical facility and provide the enclosed card to the medical providers and proceed under the shown criteria.

I urge the strongest and most expedient response to protect our members.

PAYMENTS:

To ensure complete and expedient payment for your services by BNSF, please follow the BNSF Medical Department Emergency Care Protocols and complete the BNSF Medical Status Form.

MEDICAL CARE CONSULTANTS:

You can anticipate receiving a call from an RN or MD to obtain information concerning our employee and offer help with our protocols.

RESTRICTED DUTY:

BNSF will provide restricted duty whenever possible. Providers are asked to defer decisions on work restrictions until a BNSF Preferred Provider sees the employee the next day.

TIME OFF WORK

If time away from work is indicated, please approve lost time only until the next day follow-up care.
